Cornhole League Rules
Main Rule Set = American Cornhole League
We follow ACL rules, with some adaptions. This is the need to know;
(last update 2/13/24)
League Basics
- Teams will play a minimum of 4 games per night.
- You are permitted to bring your own bags as long as they are normal ACL approved bags. We also have bags on site for people to use.
- Teams are permitted to have 2-4 players on their roster however only 2 people play each game and 'in-game subbing' is not allowed. Teams with more than 2 players can take turns playing later games.
- We run our leagues through the Scoreholio app and our leagues have the full scoreholio set up including tablets, score towers and monitors.
- Cornhole boards will be placed 27 feet apart from front edge to front edge.
- Sub Policy: Subs are allowed as long as at least one member from your team is there. *Exception playoffs, Subs are not allowed in playoffs.
- Walking: Teams who only have one player show up may opt to "walk the board" which allows them to play without a teammate.
- Walking is not allowed in the playoffs.
Cornhole Scoring
- To win you must be the first team to reach (or exceed) 21 points.
- A cornhole bag that goes through the hole is worth 3 points.
- A cornhole bag that lands on the board and stays there is worth 1 point.
- A cornhole bag that lands on the ground or bounces onto the board is worth 0 points.
- Cancellation Scoring: Only one team can score points per inning. The team with the higher score cancels out the points of the opposing team in that inning.
- Points Calculation: The team with the higher score in an inning earns the difference in points. For instance, if Team A scores 5 points and Team B scores 2 points in an inning, Team A earns 3 points for that inning.
Playoff Rules
- All teams make playoffs
- Large leagues will be split into 'A' and 'B' brackets.
- Teams will play seeded matchups against opponents and the top 75% of teams will advance into a single elimination bracket.
- No subs or "walking" are allowed in 'A' Bracket Playoffs.
- In playoffs the higher seed has a choice where to stand OR who to shoot against, lower seed will get to chose whichever the higher seed does no choose.
- Higher seed has the choice to throw first or second.
