"Don't be sad that it's over; be happy it happened." It's hard not to be sad to see this league come to an end. Before I get into a quick recap of Championship night, Bobby and I want to thank all of you for showing up with great energy and enthusiasm all season long. This is something we do for fun and you all made it an even better. We hope you had as much fun as we did. So THANK YOU! We are sad that Beginner Mondays are coming to an end but are hopeful you all come back in the fall/winter!

The A Bracket Playoffs did not disappoint. With the new playoff format, I think most people were happy with the results. Each pool was pretty even. After a 3 game pool play round, we had: Cornaholics and Y-Nots made it out of Pool A, Fire in the Hole and Pickled Corn Dogs advanced from Pool B, Amazins and Lawn Jockeys moved on from Pool C, and Pops and the Heavys and Last of Us represented Pool D. From there, our single elimination tournament was set. The first round of the bracket appeared to be a slugfest, where teams won by double digits. But that is where the easy path ended and the drama began all leading up to the championship match. The stage was set for the Amazins to square off against the Lawn Jockeys. Both of these teams came from Pool C where the Amazins crushed the Lawn Jockeys 21-5 in pool play. But the Lawn Jockeys got the ultimate revenge. In a championship game that came down to the wire, the Lawn Jockeys narrowly beat out the Amazins 21-19 to be our A Bracket Champs! Congrats to John, Lenny, Brian and Matt on your championship victory!

The B Bracket Playoffs was extremely slept on. Perhaps because they were in their own element on Courts 5 and 6 in the back but these games were very exciting. The round robin play proved to be a bit of an endurance test, with the games lasting pretty long with some close games. But the bags were flying once it got to the single elimination bracket where Cornhole Nicole's, Corn Ho's, Nuclear Wombats and Corn Muffins faced off. The Corn Ho's took care of business against the previously undefeated Cornhole Nicoles. And the Nuclear Wombats just beat out the Corn Muffins to advance to the finals. But nothing was stopping the Corn Ho's as they played with such determination and took care of Nuclear Wombats relatively easily at 21-10. Congrats to Gidget, Nicole, Deb and Michelle on a fantastic victory run!
